PSP-Public Sector Training PackageDescription
The PSP50416 Diploma of Government Investigations is designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge to coordinate and conduct investigations, with a focus on investigations in Federal, State and Local Government organisations. According to the Australian government Investigations Standards (AGIS) 2022 this qualification is the minimum level of training or qualification recommended for persons engaged in the coordination and supervision of Government investigations.
Successful completion of the Diploma of Government Investigations may lead to a range of career prospects including:

- Investigation Team Leader
- Compliance Manager
- Fraud Prevention Supervisor
- Fraud Investigation Manager

Entry Requirements
Candidates should already have completed a CIV in Government Investigation or similar or possess previous supervisory experience or senior level employment in an investigative area of the public sector.

A total of 11 units are required to achieve the award of Diploma of Government Investigations, 5 of which are mandatory core units and 6 electives units.

The units listed here have been selected based on industry consultation. The skills and knowledge learnt in this program are what employers and government agencies are looking for in their investigation managers and team leaders.
Other electives may be selected in accordance with the packaging rules of this qualification. For information with regards to the selection of different elective units, please contact your trainer or our office.
Delivery Options
This nationally recognised qualification is available via face to face training courses or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Option 1 – Face to face training
Face to face training is delivered in house at your workplace. The face to face component of the Diploma of Government Investigations is delivered across five days using a complex simulated investigation to support course lessons. Your assessments will be in a variety of formats such as short answer questions, case studies, and observation of practical activities.
You will receive tuition on managing, coordinating and evaluating a complex investigation. On the face to face course, you will conduct practical assessment activities such as managing an investigation coordinator centre, developing avenues of inquiry and delegating investigative tasks, preparing briefings, reviewing statements and interviews, coordinating resources including personnel and evaluating an investigation through quality assurance reviews.
Post-course, participants complete the remainder of the qualification assessments, including knowledge questions and coordinating an investigation in the workplace. Participants must have access to a workplace where they can conduct investigations. There are no due dates on assessments and no exams.
Option 2 – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Participants with previous experience in the supervision, coordination and review of government investigations may apply for a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment. This alternate assessment method may reduce the amount of time required to complete this qualification and may reduce the cost. Refer to RPL for more information.

Course fees
Each qualification or training course offered by KPS has a specific maximum course fee that will be charged to the student. This fee is inclusive of all tuition and assessment, student support, electronic copies of reference materials and learner guides, and access to mandatory resources and equipment.

$2500 (face to face/blended)
$1250 (RPL)
All course fees must be paid prior to attendance at a face to face course. Fees are subject to change without notice.
